My Standard

One test before anything earns a spot in this store: would I hand it to my own family and trust it to work? I'm a Marine Corps veteran and a working firefighter/EMT — and I don't carry counterfeit life-safety gear. Ever. Read my Quality Promise.

Straight talk: a straw filter is a backup layer, not a water plan. Stored water comes first, boiling or tablets second — this is what lives in the glovebox or go-bag for the day you get separated from both. Under 90 grams, about pen-thick, no batteries and nothing to set up. Put it in the source — river, rain catch, lake — and drink.

Working storm cleanup, I've seen how fast the plan you built at home stops mattering once you're away from the house. This is an inline filter sized for one person. It won't replace stored water, and I'm not going to tell you it will — but an empty pocket in your kit shouldn't be the weak point.

Testing status: manufacturer-rated filtration; not independently NSF/ANSI certified. For an independently NSF/ANSI-tested system, see my Gravity-Fed Water Filtration System.
