My Standard

One test before anything earns a spot in this store: would I hand it to my own family and trust it to work? I'm a Marine Corps veteran and a working firefighter/EMT — and I don't carry counterfeit life-safety gear. Ever. Read my Quality Promise.

A fire tool with no batteries, no fuel, and no moving parts — because the old way still works when nothing else does.

This is a traditional flint-and-steel striker: a solid loop of high-carbon steel sized for a working hand (about 3.5" x 1.75", 3.5 oz). Strike it against a hard stone — flint, quartz, chert — and it throws hot sparks into your tinder. Rain, cold, wind — none of it cares. This method lit fires for centuries before the lighter existed, and it keeps working long after a lighter dies.

Straight talk from the founder: a ferro rod is faster, and we sell one. But steel-and-stone is the skill that makes you fireproof — if you can catch a spark on char cloth with this, you can start a fire with almost anything. It's also the piece I'd hand a kid learning fire craft: sturdy, simple, nothing to break and nothing to run out.

- Solid high-carbon steel, hardened for spark production

- Fist-sized grip — works with cold or gloved hands

- Pairs with any hard silica stone plus char cloth or dry tinder

- No consumables. Nothing to fail. It lives in the kit forever.

What's in the box, honestly: the steel striker. You supply the stone and the tinder — that's the tradition, and finding your stone is half the skill.

Stand Ready. Stay Unbreakable.
