72 Hour Emergency Starter Kit
Most families don't fail a bad night because they were missing something exotic. They fail it because the power went out, the phone died, and nothing was where they thought it was. This is the smallest honest starting point I can put together.
What it is
Four pieces that cover the four things that go wrong first: warmth, light, fire, and cordage.
- Emergency Thermal Survival Sleeping Bag — reflective mylar bivvy, packs to the size of a fist, holds body heat when the heat is off
- Ferro Rod Fire Starter with Folding Scraper — 10mm ferrocerium rod on a paracord lanyard. No fuel to leak, throws sparks wet and cold, good for thousands of strikes. Same fire starter that goes in our 72-Hour Family Kits.
- Motion-Sensor LED Headlamp — hands-free light, wave to turn on, so you can carry a child and open a door
- Survival Paracord, 9-strand — for a tarp, a load, a gate, a splint
Ships free.
Who ships it
I pack this kit myself in Texas. The ferro rod ships direct from the supplier with tracking, so it may arrive as a second parcel a week or so later.
What it doesn't cover: water, food, or first aid. Those are the next three things to buy, and they're linked below.
Stand Ready. Stay Unbreakable.
Shipping & delivery
Stocked items ship from Texas in 1–3 business days. Supplier-shipped items take 7–15 business days; each page says which. Every order gets tracking.
Returns
30 days, unused, in the original packaging. Food, custom-printed and hazardous items are excluded. If something arrives damaged or wrong, I replace it.
