It does not remove viruses, chemicals, fuel or heavy metals, so do not draw from floodwater near roads, farms or industrial sites and expect it to fix that. Pre-filter cloudy water through a bandana to keep the membrane flowing, never let it freeze with water inside, and backflush or rinse it after a trip. One bottle per person in the bag.
